recording session
Tonhalle Hannover
2025 mai 3rd-4th

we did it again

After some years of individual noise we found ourselves recording music together again. Set as experimental canvas we brushed ourselves in musical colors and brought home some pictures. Please welcome Benjamin Laux' work as Tonmeister for the fantastic sound recording engineering.

Er arbeitete u.a. mit Florian Weber, Fritz Krisse, Martin Classen, Natalie Hausmann, Astrid Könnecker, Frederik Köster, Johannes Haage, Kerstin Sund, John Raphael Burgess, Benjamin Garcia, Michael Kehraus, Miriam Frank, Katrin Scherer, Simone Sonnenschein, Alex Morsey, Marc Brenken, Jan Mathiasson, Henning Grambow, Hanno Busch, Silke Eberhard, Fritz Feger, Philipp Haagen, Nina Hagen, Philipp Cailliat, Henning Birkenhake, Natalie Plöger, David Krüger, Dominik Hummel, Philipp Spalting, Tobias Hägele, Philipp Kaiser, Bernhard Rath, Hendrik Säck, René Pauls, Käthe Johanning, Annie Delger, Jörg Thienelt und Magnum Coltrane Price.

2025-EPK dt3

::: secret sessions since 1997 :::

Eike Wulfmeier - keys
Marcel Krömker - basses
Christian Jung - drums

Eike, Marcel and Christian have been playing music together since their school days in the nineties in big bands, in smaller ensembles and for several years in a session band under the direction of Douglas Sides, an Afro-American drummer (who had played with Hank Jones, Johnny Griffin, among others) with decades of jazz experience.

Doug Sides died on Oct 10th 2024.

As a combo, the three Detmold musicians played jazz standards, while their love of pop and rock music and contemporary musical styles led to a musical dialogue with Miles Davis, The Meters, John Scofield and Daft Punk.

All three musicians have proven themselves as soloists, have played in New York, Paris and Amsterdam and have dedicated most of their lives to music. About twenty-five years later, the three have discovered how many of the musical rules that Douglas had tought are essential for the game of music.
